This show the foundations of the house and the various layers that comprise the floor. This is only round the front (south face) of the build, as the house goes into the hillside, the number of tyre courses increase until we get to around 19-20 deep at the back.
Each tyre has to be "rammed" with earth (gravel, clay, sand and crushed rock mix) until it is inflated and completely solid!
